Juat arrived in amsterdam and i asked the hotel receptionist if they offer complimentary water and they said no, because their tap water is safe

Is this actually true? Even America doesnt drink tap water out of their bathroom sinks! Which seems ti be the only option unless you want to buy expensive ass bottled water here.

If you're used to drinking water from America... Dutch water will be better for you than what you get at home.

What's wrong with the fact that you only have a bathroom sink in your room??? I'm not aware of anywhere outside of America that has a full sized kitchen in their hotel rooms.

The taps will be cleaned by the cleaners on a daily basis, so the tap is clean and the water is clean. You don't really have anything to be scared of.

@HootyTheNightOwl i dont even drink US tap water.

I'm in hotels 150 days a year in America and Eupoe. I drink the tap water in those hotels. I only twitch a little for a few days after.
Unless someone has plumbed their house to use "grey water" inappropriately, the water source in ANY home, etc., should be the same at ANY sink, ANY tub / ANY shower, ANY washer (dishes or clothes), ANY icemaker: ANY first use of water.

Outside taps are typically not softened in a well-based system.

So if the SOURCE is ok, ALL the water in THOSE locations is OK.

For a well, you can get bacteria. This requires a bleach treatment and retesting. During the time of the bacteria, boiling is important.

Sometimes city water supplies have problems; this leads to boil advisories.

NYC water is far cleaner than bottled water.

Greywater / grey water = water after a first use from a sink, shower/tub, or laundry

THAT (possibly with treatment) can be used for irrigation, flushing toilets.

Black water is after use in a toilet.

@NerdyPotato bathroom sink tap water is safe to drink??? They dont have a kitchen sink one here
@MntoNc all taps are connected to the same water network. It doesn't matter whether you get it from the kitchen, bathroom sink, shower or toilet reservoir. It's all the same water and same quality. (Although I wouldn't take it from the toilet bowl for obvious reasons.)

Yes. In most cu listed countries tsp water is perfectly safe.

You’re discovering the truth about America.

But a water filter? Like brita or whatever?
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@YoMomma no i dont see any filters. They say their tap water is good here. Idk, im very skeptical about (unfiltered) tap water
YoMomma ·
@MntoNc who knows.. some people drink tap water maybe run it through the coffee maker? That boils it at least? (Some hotels have coffee makers in the rooms)
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
I don't trust any tap water anywhere. The whole would is becoming a cesspool.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M

MntoNc · 36-40, M
@Elessar does it matter if its a hotel?
Elessar · 31-35, M
@MntoNc Why should it?
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@Elessar idk just asking
Yes, Americans do, unless the tap is labeled as "non-potable".
Yeah. Almost all of Europe's tap water is safe to drink straight from the tap.
val70 · 51-55
