Accept that your in your situation. Your life is the way it is now and you cant change the past. Try to live up to who you want to be right now to make your future brighter. Learn from your mistakes in the past rather than dwell on them.

Its hard... But simple..No matter who or what caused your difficulty, the fact is you are right here, today. And nothing will change that. So mentally draw a line, recognising that it is what it is and ask yourself where you want to be tomorrow and for all the other tomorrows. Now take a step in that direction. That should keep you busy enough not to dwell on the past. And thats the habit you need to break.. Like I said. Its Hard. but simple..😷

The problem with saying to others that you've had a hard life is that there isn't usually any tangible evidence that supports your claim, other than the memory itself that never leaves it's source, which means that memory cannot leave your own mind nor be shared with anyone who wasn't there to witness what you experienced.

If there is nothing tangible remaining that shows evidence today of what happened in your life years ago, then did it really happen at all? If the tangible evidence doesn't exist, then why carry around the brown paper wrapper of memory that the experience came packaged in at the time?

If the experience is gone, maybe it's time to throw away it's wrapping paper as well?

@swirlie you have the audacity to think i'm imagining my past, my experiences?

Oh no, not at all. You've missed my point entirely.

I know that you've had real experiences in your past which negatively affected you, but my point is, if nobody today can be made aware of those experiences, then why carry them around with you as if they had just happened?

In knowing that, you can give yourself permission to dismiss every one of those negative experiences from your memory because ALL they are in reality is memory and nothing else.

You change how you view it, dwell on negative things and that’s all you’ll see.
