Should one have a cold heart and stop caring?

You can try to help people but never expect they will learn from it and never expect anything in return. Sometimes we are meant to be in someone’s life only for a brief period of time just to help them or to pass information on to them.

I think it’s better for your soul to guard your heart, not harden it. It has to stay open to the good things that may find they way to your path.

Sometimes i think u are right but … why should i let bad experiences or people change who i’am? Is it worth living a life being someone else?

Some of us were born with big heart and that's because we were born to use it. But even our hearts need to have healthy boundaries even though it'll always suffer from time to time. Being empathetic can be a curse, but it can also be someone's blessing. To me, there's no greater gift than to have that happen. Your heart is like mine right now, it's just tired. You need to step away from others and put more emotional investment in yourself for awhile.😉

I refer to it as Hardening your Heart.
I am not cold hearted, I simply do not give freely of myself.
People take advantage at any opportunity, with a hardened heart, there is less chance of being used and abused.

For me it's not possible..I can get empathy fatigue..but I never stop caring..even if I wanted to..I couldn't do it ...curse this caring heart of mine😖

Being cold-hearted and rying to stay closed off from the world hurts too. There are good things out there.

It is possible to care carefully to minimize the damage if things don't work out the way you'd like.

You shouldn’t stop caring all together. I think you need to guard yourself and not give of yourself so much. That’s what I am doing.
