Should one have a cold heart and stop caring?

I mean I don't think caring a lot helped me in my life. I help strangers to end up watching them crush my heart beyond measure.

I feel being cold-hearted preserves you from being hurt. What's your take on it?

@Beatbox34 If you think of it as a season and not a whole lifetime. Nobody wants to be around a hard -heart, because they can't help them and get blasted when they try.
Be very lonley to push away family and friends that way.
