Do you think politicians make up their own facts or twist those available to them?

I think they call it ‘spin’, but it really is untrue and they make policy based on lies, no wonder the whole world is in such a mess!

What do you think?

Both what ever it takes to keep them in their Positions they hold now But I think that is a human reaction to having some power. The problem is their constituents are too dumb to realize they no longer serve their needs or ideals but don’t care enough to vote them out and the politicians know this and keep feeding them what ever they want to hear

Probably -- but it varies greatly as to how much they skew the truth -- or even outright lie. We all tend to phrase things in ways that make ourselves look good, but most of us don't outright lie and then keep repeating the lie even after getting caught out.

They spin and spin and begin to believe their own spins... then they lie.

Even the best of them do it, but if you look around, people spin and lie, and after all is said and done, politicians are people.

Anymore I look for the least untruthful and it is getting harder and harder to find them.
I'd say they do both. They do whatever they can to gain followers.

I think perhaps, it's the biased Media that do this 🤔

@Montanaman Which are worst?
@Montanaman It's perhaps more a cycle? They are both feeding from a trough.

@Smidke I think they are all slanted to some degree but it is up to us to read between the lines and realize that we can not just take any of it as the whole truth I think the old adage of just follow the money and you can have a good idea of their intentions really are

absolutely, it's a requirement for politicians to "spin" facts and data to support their agenda. if a politician stop lying they spontaneously combust
