How to help someone that is depressed?

My husband recently got demoted and had to take a pay cut. He is taking it very hard. He thinks he is worthless and can't do anything right. Also that everytime something good happens something happens to make it miserable again. Please HELP! 😢

We are in a recession in alberta, canada and a lot of people has lost their jobs. Looking at your husband's situation from a different angle, you can encourage him to still be grateful that he still has a job. And a job doesnt define who he is as a man.
