During WWII a German U-Boat surfaced on the coast of Scotland

An air strike was called and it crippled the sub. The members of the crew made it to the Scottish Coast and were taken into custody.

After questioning the captain he admitted that it was not a test of defenses or a diversionary tactic.

The reason? The Germans had installed a toilet system that would allow for flushing the toilets when at depth. It was a new system and the German Navy had actually trained "flushers" to handle the taste - even putting up illustrated instructions.

Well, the Captain heard the call of nature and then decided he didn't need some enlisted man to flush his toilet.

So this intelligent officer made the toilet overflow - the water flooding the batteries stored under the bathroom and it released dangerous chlorine gas.

The moral of the story? Don't be ashamed to ask for help or advise. Sometimes you AREN'T the smartest person in the room - and sometimes if you are - it's only because you're the ONLY person in the room.

(That was pretty sharp for only one mug of coffee, huh?)
