Someone I met in dating arena- we had nice conversations and blah blah. well he shared his past which was so bad, i felt compassion for him but then i felt like maybe he has too many "issues" which is really silly because i have issues too, so how can i judge him? (sorry for run on sentence). so i ran away from him, and told him it wouldn't work out. tonight he posted something really romantic to me in front of his friends and family and i wonder if i have made the right decision?

Do you think I should give him another chance? I just don't want to hurt him, since he has been hurt so much in his past.

The biggest issue I see is talking about his issues too soon. It means they're on the front raw.
There're ppl with issues who can go around and have interests and stories to talk about .
Judging from myself too and not only from listening to others, whenever I talk about my issues first thing, is not the right time to create any bonds...
Exactly as you say,he earned your compassion. We're not getting involved in love out of compassion, how I see it.
