How to Maintain Presence among Unconscious People | Eckhart Tolle
Be aware when you interacting with people and realize that you may not always succeed in doing this but the most important thing is to bring about a shift in the way in which you approach the situation. The most important thing is your state of consciousness rather than whatever it is that they may be talking about, whatever they are engaged in gossiping this is emotional ego stuff. Use it as an opportunity to stay present but it's not easy.
You need to intensify your presence when you're with unconscious people. When you're walking out in nature being present isn't hard. You might discover you actually like staying alone in the room which is good because you are comfortable with yourself while others are greatly uncomfortable with themselves. You can love people but you also love being alone because you are sensing your own presence and stillness.
But the you leave your room and meet other people, lose yourself because there's a gravitational pull that the mind has and others know that so other people's minds will try to draw you in.
(Eckhart Tolle asks the person asking the question if it's strangers or family that she has troubles with, she answers that it's both family and work, the unconsciousness of the city it's surrounded in.)
Eckhart Tolle then tells her that she can sense the energy of the city and the noise so it's intense for her (I have this same trouble too.)
This isn't the end of the video but I found this noteworthy.
