A primary care physician, like the doctor you just go to for regular checkups. They can screen you and refer you to someone.
I would press them for a list of mental health workers so they don't just refer you to someone who benefits them.

Just a regular doctor is fine. They are the ones that are mainly treating depression anymore. The only reason you might need to see a psychiatrist is for an initial diagnosis. But a regular doc can then prescribe meds for you.
