Older people here, how did you react that you have never reach your dreams?

Does anyone here who are in their 30s or older who has their own goals but never achieved it? How did you react and lived with it? Do you have regrets?

There's an old saying, "Better to have tried and failed than to never try at all." I tried. I failed. My only regret is that I didn't try harder.

I was extremely discouraged. I regret the majority of my life until the past couple years. Things just started working out and falling into place. My dreams changed (I hadn't had any for years) and I'm working on those new ones now. I still have regrets but they aren't all-consuming.

I never fixated on dreams. I simply took what life gave me and moved on from there. I attained most of my dreams when I was in my 20s and found them to be empty. So I married a wonderful woman, made 1/2 a dozen kids with her and lived accordingly. I've never been happier.

I'm over 60 and have failed to reach lots of intermediate dreams. Each time, I assessed the situation to see if I needed to change myself; then I moved on the the next new dream. Overall, I had the dream of having a good marriage, raising kids to be responsible adults, and contributing something positive to society. That overall dream has been accomplished, so I can live without living the dream of being an All-America football player, etc.

It would be a sad day if one achieved all their goals as that would end their striving and growth.

Dreams and goals change, grow, and are replaced throughout life. Those without goals cease their efforts and stagnate, wasting life and time.

Some goals and dreams are never met, but serve as something to strive for throughout life.

Hello, you have a life time to achieve your goals, make your dreams come true or sit around and talk about them...until you take your last breath you have time to do everything you want..it all starts with you and ends with you...Smile!

Honestly it's heavy to live with but life goes on regardless so I'm just trying to make the best of everything with what I do have instead of stressing about what I did not achieve. Tough but can't give up.

In my case . I worked on fulfilling my dreams and if for some reason I didn't get to do that, I figured it wasn't meant to be. I just moved on.
