You need demonstrably prove that the mold itself made you sick and had a tangible, measurable effect on you. General breathing problems are not typically enough.
You also have to prove the mold existed and in quantity. You must prove you did your best to mitigate your own damages. If you were sick within the 1st hour, staying any longer than that is on you. Other past code violations don't figure in here.
You also have to prove you made attempts to get the person responsible to rectify the situation. Good luck. Tell your side as best you can and seek only the damages you're out.
