In tenant/landlord lawsuits, who usually wins?

I am going up against a major corporation because they put my health in danger in the place I rented and the CEO has harassed me over the phone, but I am still scared because I am a college student going against a large company.

You need demonstrably prove that the mold itself made you sick and had a tangible, measurable effect on you. General breathing problems are not typically enough.

You also have to prove the mold existed and in quantity. You must prove you did your best to mitigate your own damages. If you were sick within the 1st hour, staying any longer than that is on you. Other past code violations don't figure in here.

You also have to prove you made attempts to get the person responsible to rectify the situation. Good luck. Tell your side as best you can and seek only the damages you're out.

Depends on so many factors. Location, how your life was put into risk, what steps you took and documented to get it addressed, etc. 🤔
Did you record the harassing calls?

@Peaceful Toxic mold everywhere. To the point where me (an asthmatic) couldn't breathe within an hour of being in the unit, and my boyfriend and mother who are normal healthy people both had severe headaches within two hours.

@islandgirl55 document shit like that. Please next time. Courts need proof.

@Peaceful I have full documentation. Photos of everything and written letters to the company (two of them).

It's who is right rather than the favouring of tennant or landlord.
