$1000 paypal gift card offer recieved in email, legit or phishing scam?

So yeah. My email just recently received a paypal notice saying that I supposedly qualified to receive a 1000 paypal gift card through the physical mail, but I have to fill out a quick survey first, which includes my real name and address.

I'm always highly and rightly suspicious about these kind of emails and normally dismiss them as spam, but in this case I'm asking if this is legit? I'm only taking exceptions here because I do use paypal quite often and would gladly save some money if possible.

Call PayPal and ask them
@MrBrownstone It's entirely possible paypal has nothing to do with it. My work gives out amazon gift cards all the time. Do you think amazon would have any info about it if someone called?

@SooperSarah That’s true
I seriously doubt they would send that kind of money contingent on a simple survey. I wouldn't touch that one.

If it was in your Spam? I guarantee it's a scam. Never fill out those phony surveys wherever they are.

Generally speaking, if it sounds too good to be true then it is too good to be true.

I guarantee you will be asked more questions
Have you checked the e-mail 'header'?

Nobody is giving $1000 to anyone.

Legit 100 percent 🙄

Why would an online service that is asking you to do a "quick online survey," go to the expense of mailing you a physical gift card intended to stoke your greed and override your discretion?

It sounds like a scam and probably not from PayPal. I wouldn’t click on any links in the email.

Be very suspicious and don't allow the greedy impulse to win. Money like that never comes easily.

Look at who the email is from. It’s most likely a scam.
