At the age of 73, I can look back and tell you that marriage is not the answer. If you are not in touch with yourself, your feelings, and don't have respect, love, or self-esteem about yourself, and confidence, it won't work, and you'll be even more miserable substituting things like marriage in hope of finding love, until you get yourself together. Here is an order to life. What you really need most of all right now, is yourself. Work on yourself, stay positive, give life your best, get a good job so you can support yourself and always be independent, get your life in order, and then you'll be ready for marriage if you like. But don't get married just because you think that's the "thing to do". It's definitely not a hobby. It is a serious life decision and one that should never be taken lightly, because you will lose your independence if you get hold of the wrong person or don't know yourself. You come first! Never become a people pleaser. Marriage is not the key to happiness. Do what you love and always, always put yourself first. Nothing says you even have to get married. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Not in my book, anyway. Does tying yourself down to kids for a full 18 years, sound appealing to you?

Been there done that at age 17... I could have lived without that experience.

Hey I don't mind the idea of meeting someone here, falling in love, and finding out together what other's missed! But I'm a hopeless romantic, being sensitive, but also foolish, and we are missing out.

Getting married will ensure you miss out on all the fun life has to offer.

God has promised us a paradise on earth if we put our faith in him.
