How do you get a cat 🐈 out of a tree 🌲?

Seriously, though, true story: my wife and I used to live in a nice, decidedly liberal suburb of ATL. One day a cat got stuck in a tree in our back yard. Several of the neighborhood bleeding hearts started trying to find a solution.

One of the neighbors (who had rock climbing experience) was pressed into service. He rigged up his gear, scaled the tree, grabbed the cat...and got stuck when the rope got wedged between the bough of the tree such that his beleying harness wouldn't release. Meanwhile, the cat started freaking out and doing its best to flay the man's back. This exhibition of hilarity went on for the better part of two hours with more neighbors trying to help with extension ladders, etc. We started setting up chairs and making popcorn for the, by this time, thirty or so bystanders when, mercifully, the man in the tree got himself unstuck and lowered himself to the ground.

So what happened next? When the man came down the cat jumped off his back and ran up another tree!!

@Theseus Well, generally speaking cats can find their own way down. But if not.. then ya you bet I'd get a ladder.. and I'd take a scratch or two in the process without wincing... SOME people are complete wusses when it comes to a cat scratch.. man up people... I expect it's those dumb non-libs :P

@Adaydreambeliever Nope. "Non-libs" would let the cat find its own way down or, in a fit of mercy, would hose the cat till it came down.

Incidentally, I don't recall ever hearing about a cat dying in a tree...eh, that is without the assistance of an owl, hawk or some other hungry raptor.

It's another day so let's not dwell on the past.. but moving forward, I will say that I have observed you to be quite contrary :P It seems clear to me that you really hate libs.. you go on about them all the time.. almost akin to a paranoiac. I will share, (generous soul that I am) that your disease re hating Libs is way in excess of your dislike of Conservatives, as I've never seen you bang on about Cons in the same way. I wondered if you were aware?
