Why is the holocaust a bigger deal in the U.S. than slavery? ._.

Because the holocaust is a bigger deal than slavery, genocide is a bigger deal than slavery. Especially when its a civilised country which should have known better. Just like how slavery in America was a big deal, as they were a civilised country who should have known better, and yet, it took to the mid 1800s for them to get rid of slavery and even then, they had to kill a half million of their own people to accomplish it. While the evil British 'imperialists!!' with which the Americans threw off in light of liberty and equality and all that crap, not only outlawed slavery within their own country but took to doing all they could to destroy the maritime slave trade, as well as taking the fight to places in Africa to destroy the African slave trade.

To conclude - When its a bunch of mad natives running about hacking each other to bits, people feel that they dont know any better. But when you have well educated, decent people are either supporting genocide or slavery then it becomes big deal. And slavery is about using people for labour, genocide is simply about death. Death. And killing an entire group of people is worst than enslaving them.

@Allelse the slavery was so inhumane it literally matches the death toll of the genocide. THAT'S how BAD that was and you are saying the 10+ million left over enslaved people are marginalized? >_>
How are the lives lost in slavery any less important when the numbers are roughly the same and could be MORE? Is it arbitrary? With the intent to kill, if you only MATCHED the slaughter of people tryna ENSLAVE others alone, that says something pretty big...

And slavery is not civilised. The U.S. was not civilised. The Colonies were built on animal-like manifest destiny and slaughter that tore apart an entire country. This country was just not respected to be a countr since they were 3/5th human 😂
We got a long history to talk about if you really believe:

1. Slavery is literally able to be overlooked and is actually still civilised. Just a small mistake. Completely still a civilised country. No big deal.

2. Some lives are worth more than others. Same nunber lives lost, but some are taught to be ignored and left to drown in the seas they dived into or were dumped in, and they werem't even lost through a genocide. Just the horrible treatment alone matched genocide. Horrible treatment on a scale so grand it vastly outweighs the other scope

1. Genocide being worst than slavery, does not take away from how terrible slavery is.

2. I never said slavery was civilised, which is why at the time it was such a disgrace that America still had legalised slavery. And that while the very nation they threw off had not only outlawed slavery in their own country, but were doing what they could destroy the slave trade in the rest of the world. slavery in America was an example of a civilised nation which was taking part in an uncivilised act. Germany was a civilised nation and yet they would go on to support uncivilised acts.

3. Lives lost to slavery are not marginalised by the lives lost to genocide. But while many are killed in the process of the capturing, holding and selling of slaves, if enough people did not survive the process to become slaves then there would be no money it or practical use for it, and so it wouldn't exist. While genocide has no intention of keeping anybody alive, it is a process of eliminating a group of people purely out of ideology. Whether it be "They're the Ogga Bugga tribe and they're not the same tribe as us!!! GET EM!!" or "They're the Jews!! They killed our lord and saviour! GET EM!!!!".

4. slavery is a business where they could afford to lose lives its true. But its still a business, genocide is mass murder, they dont intend to keep anybody alive. Which is why genocide is worst than slavery. As a slave you have a chance, albeit thin of being free someday, while if you're caught up in genocide? You're fucked.
I don't even almost have a dog in this race, (no pun intended,) but as an outside observer, it seems to me you're predisposed to bias, rather than being one who wants to discuss and consider points of view, Pirate. @Allelse @SW-User

@KayraJordyn There's no different point of view to be had, genocide is worst than slavery. That's it.
SW-User
@Allelse I gotta agree there :v
Genocide in general is worse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@SW-User Though slavery is still awful, I mean just the numbers of people they were happy to let die when dragging hordes them across Africa to the ports.
SW-User
@Allelse yeah, true .-.
Honestly though, the drive to exterminate human beings is shocking af now that it settles in man

You are right man. Ya make great points :v

@SW-User Thank you and In all honesty I think I'd rather be put up against a wall and shot, than be dragged across half Africa as a slave.
SW-User
@Allelse that's true ._.
Very true and dignified
There's nothing dignified about being shot like a rabid dog, Pirate. That fantastical view just might do well with some modification.

That doesn't mean I'd rather be enslaved. Just that it would give any one of us a chance to be more than a corpse. To me, that's worth fighting for, until my time comes. But then, I have only suffered in my own way. Even though I may have suffered dearly, by modern terms, perhaps, I am definitely blessed beyond words. Still, I'm not beyond imagining many an imprisoned or enslaved man or woman has seen his or her own blessings received even when sorrows have risen.

I will not pretend to know what the suffering that slaves have endured would mean to them. The hope of death would sometimes, indeed, be a mercy. Just as it would for starving, work-slaves who were required to also be less than human in the holocaust. Their deaths were more certain than slaves. But every life MATTERS. So. That minimizes NOBODY'S suffering. At least, not to me. @SW-User
