Assault rifle owners, what makes you feel like you need to own one?

I’m not attacking you guys but I’m just curious as to under what circumstances you think you’ll need even an nonautomatic rifle when all you need for self defense is really a pistol if you have to have one. I don’t mean hunting rifles I mean things like ar15s.

Ar-15 type rifles make great hunting rifles depending on the preyand the caliber the gun is clambered in.

Aside from that...they are loads of fun at the range and competitions.

Aside from that...a pistol is sometimes a very poor choice for self defense or home defense due to the difficulty taking well aimed shots at range with a short barrel and pistol grip.

Aside from that...if things do for some reason go to the worst...god forbid...i know that my ak is formidable enough to do whatever is needed of it.
