Did I overreact?

Top | New | Old
To be fair ignoring trolls generally is the way to go.

Leaning in and responding only entertains them with the result of more comments you may not like to see on your posts.

Over time that will eat away at you and eventually bring you emotionally down.

Did you over react? Yes. But by simply responding in general.

Unless you enjoy triggering people who are the polar opposite of your personality and having online arguments with them. In that case. No. You responded perfectly.

I think maybe you responded with some hostility with a question that to you seems so obvious as to be insulting and it ended up insulting both people. Happens sometimes. Oh well. Going forward it is good to read exactly what people write and not try to read into things. I'm very guilty of reading too much into things.

I don't think you were overreacting but a miscommunication maybe. It could be that is their natural personality maybe and wasn't meaning anything by it. But at the same time, the reason I say it's not an overreaction is because there are a lot of anti gay trolls and stuff so naturally that's our first defense I think.

@TryingtoLava Well, she blocked me after that interaction, so I might need somebody to explain to her why I responded that way to her using the word queers.

@LordShadowfire I messaged her for you I can't guarantee she'll respond to me but I told her what you said and maybe hopefully we can get it straightened out. I've never seen any anti gay comments from her so it could be a miscommunication or maybe she is I dunno.

I did email her though so I did my part.
