I'm no scientist, but the effort that goes into cleaning a peanut butter jar must outweigh the benefit of recycling it.

How many tons of ketchup go unused still stuck in those tiny, rip-open packets?
Sucker is going in the trash.

Just set it out for the critters. It'll be clean by morning.

He even set it on the steps the next morning.

On the principle of reduce, reuse, recycle; I reduce by not eating peanut butter.

I usually fill them with hot water and Dawn and let them sit for a day or two. The leftover peanut butter rinses out pretty well after that. Fill with hot water again to loosen the glue holding the label on, peel it off and then use a mix of veggie oil/baking soda to get residual glue off.

It then goes to the garage where it is used to store hardware.

You need to grow a longer tongue!😆
How much waste in toothpaste containers? Especially the ones with the unbendable top
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Justafantasy there must be a religious holiday about the toothpaste tube that never ran out!

Recycling is a scam.
@GlitterEater Well, it's not so much of a scam; the problem is that they told us to reduce, reuse, and recycle, and the vast majority of people are only doing one of those three.

Just use a spoon.
What effort? Fill it full of water, leave it in the sink for a couple of days, then run it through the dishwasher.
