and of course could be used for much much more. And what a handy way to store people's vaccination status, driving licence, passport - and why not their digital money, once that has been sorted out?
Oh and of course, keep their brain thinking the right kind of thoughts
I woulod not trust Elon Musk as far as I (or a Chinese space-station astronaut) could throw him; but I think the fears you express about what that chip might allow, are misplaced.
I'd be more worried about its medical safety than anything else.
@ArishMell But in a Ted talk back in 2008, a nerd that looked like Bill Gates but wasn't him, said "we will be able to suppress the God gene." I think the tdchnoloģy to do all this is here. If they wanted to activate it.
Imagine all the people who have never had a smart phone, or computer, and how far behind everyone else is who has them. No ordering online, booking a flight, hotel, no job etc. Basically, unless you are living off the grid, your life is much harder to function in modern day society. As more people upload their brains to neuralink, it will be the same. It will be hard to function. @Scarfface
@Carissimi I don't think it'll get that way but you've got a point with being forced to keep up with tech. I can see neurolink being good for use in medical conditions. It might allow blind people to see and the deaf to hear etc.
@Notsimilar It's not a comfortable scenario, all round. When people say "Happy New Year, this one's got to be better," I wonder if they've got any idea how far this pandemic control business has brought us alòng the road to disaster
