A shame it is not longer used really, it was quite beneficial.
Hoppysan · 70-79, M
@StrictOldManUK Hi I quite agree, it did not do any of us any lasting harm. I still have a passing interest. Cheers
StrictOldManUK · 61-69, M
@Hoppysan Well said, I think men our age often maintain an interest.

@freyamartin Pretty harsh for Girls depending on location
freyamartin · 41-45, F
@Ying167 harsh in what way?
Ying167 · 18-21, F
@freyamartin Corporal punishment
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I think it is allowed at my old school with permission from the parent's. But I don't know if the new Principal even uses it.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Rickie4 no I never got it. One of my sister's did
1olderguy20 · 61-69, M
@smileylovesgaming too bad. You never got paddled at school. But i know mom tanned your bottom
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@1olderguy20 i know my sister got it once that I know of
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Looking at the state of the UK they need it back in schools badly
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@MasterLee not just in the UK. Gee kids are terrible these day's
StrictOldManUK · 61-69, M
@smileylovesgaming Seems a good idea if the parents agree but then again as you say if the Principal doesn't believe in it than it won't happen. Do a lot of decisions lie with the Principal in US schools or are they laws at state or country level?
Missysmithers · 31-35, F
It is legal in some states in the U.S.
1olderguy20 · 61-69, M
@Missysmithers mostly in the south and texas
Kzatovhich · 22-25, M
It's illegal but still widely used in Indian schools
StrictOldManUK · 61-69, M
@Kzatovhich Wow that is quite a set of punishments, not just using an implement but physical exercise as well.
Kzatovhich · 22-25, M
@StrictOldManUK
Ikr. Older generations had it much worse.
Ikr. Older generations had it much worse.
StrictOldManUK · 61-69, M
@Kzatovhich Yes I think that is why older generations are more in favour, they have seen how, used properly, it can have good effects.
Not onky is corporal punishment still allowed in parts of the US, Trial by Combat has never been abolished. It doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court so the courts under it can't rule against it.
There was a brief news item about a bill in the House of Rep. over here that would outlaw cp even in private schools NATIONALLY! Currently is bogged down in a Committee!
updown2020 · 61-69, M
Well corporal punishment is allowed in 18 states,
freyamartin · 41-45, F
@updown2020 I know it some places it is allowed but not widely used. Is it widely used in those states?
Justme264 · 70-79, M
@freyamartin I believe it is widely used in those states and that one has reintroduced the allowance of it for public schools.
Rickie4 · 56-60, M
It was banned in the UK in the mid 1980s. It was quite widely used when I was at school and when a boy was caned the event was discussed at break with all the details of what happened. I developed a strange curiosity to find out what it was like and deliberately got into trouble to get caned. I have posted about it elsewhere but I never regretted getting two strokes!
Calmalways · 46-50, M
it is still used in many countries
Philip06 · 18-21, M
In some boardings yep
freyamartin · 41-45, F
@Philip06 in what country?
ArtieKat · M
Whereabouts in the world did you grow up,@freyamartin? Corporal punishment was finally outlawed in Private Schools in England in the late 1990s. You're just old enough, by my calculations lol!
freyamartin · 41-45, F
@ArtieKat I live in the UK now but I grew up in South Africa.
ArtieKat · M
@freyamartin I've actually just come across a message thread between us, dating back to 2021
Pinaymom · 26-30, F
It’s no longer as common as it should be.
