Happy I live in the United States. Parents have the right to discipline as they want. We don't need the goverment telling us what to do with our kid's.
Government has nothing better to do than to get into everybody’s business. It’s why nothing ever gets done. They are too busy being busybodies instead of being busy doing what they were elected to do. @smileylovesgaming

@MissBrittany
they will be better behaved.
It never worked like that when I was growing up. If it had, they wouldn't have had to use it so much. The cane and slipper were in daily use.
This is great news

I believe that is already the law in Scotland.

@LizOwen yup.

Deciding violence from adults to children isn’t an appropriate response for discipline is a realization that feels obvious to many of us. Unfortunately we know it’s not to many others but I’m so glad they’ve taken that step to protect children. The children deserve more than to be hit. 🌻

cannot see it....it would be so hard to enforce. Can be enforced in school but notin the home other than if it is excessive. They tried this in Scandinavia but found enforcementin the home almost impossible. Many say they do not use it, but in private many a bottom is still whacked.

@chikki its not hatd to discuss at all.
I dontbelieve in any physical pumishment of children by adults, ever.
chikki · 70-79, M
@RubySoo that is your view to which you are entitled
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@chikki its also the view of the Welsh governnent, thankfully.
Thought it was already......
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@chikki we are talking about Wales ...
chikki · 70-79, M
@RubySoo i cannot see it being enforced.Yes and rightly so for severe punishment but not for just a slight smack.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@chikki it will be law. Of course some cruel controlling people will still continue to abuse their kids, but they will get tougher consequences for their actions.Hopefully they will also be re educated in an attempt to helpnthem understand whywhat they did is so very wrong.

This law is guaranteed Kid Approved!

@RubySoo that is your view...is a couple of smacks with the open hand on the bottom or legs really corporal punishment. When talking about cp most regard it as the use of some implement. This term has always caused confusion. When it was abolished in state schools in 1986 many thought they were voting to ban just the cabe and not, as was the case, the use of the slipper and ruler.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@chikki yes..this is my view. And you wont change it...nor will you change yr own opinion.
It bothers me that people like yrself are so fixated on it. You have created an online personna that talks about nothing else. That in itself is a worry. All you talk about is the importance of punishing children.
You are probably getting a kick from the fact im still replying to you here!
So, i sharn't indulge you anymore.
chikki · 70-79, M
@RubySoo ifind your last reply rather insulting
