Yes took a typing class and learned on manual typewriters. Took typing II the next year and we had IBM Selectric typewriters.

Yes, I took typing in HS. Never was real good at it. Maxed out at 55 wpm. Still, I have used it a lot since then.

Yes, one of the more important classes I had in school and relevant to how I ended up in my job.

I had two years of typing in high school. An easy class though I was a terrible typist.

No, I taught myself at home at about 8 years old on a HUGE -- seemed huge to a kid -- office manual that my Mother used. Only hunt-and-peck, but I got quite fast and competent. I think I still have a heavy typing hand from years of using manual typewriters that needed strong fingers.

I learned to type on an IBM card punch machine
Yes. Grade 9. That skill came in handy when I was a Radioman Sea in the Royal Canadian Navy typing out Morse code up to 16 words a minute which was good enough to pass the course.

There was a typewriting class, they didn't want you looking at the keys!!

I TRIED...but had to drop the class. My fingers went right down BETWEEN the keys every time I tried to hit one of them.

I learned YEARS later, when the ex became disabled, and I HAD to get a higher paying job.

I learned on our home computer keyboard, and used a CD called Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.

On a keyboard, I had no problem with my fingers going BETWEEN the keys!!!
