Idaho classroom ordered to take down a sign that read "Everyone is Welcomed Here," after it was found to be offensive towards racists.

Apparently the school in exact words, told the teacher that a sign in her classroom that read "everyone is welcomed here," counts as a personal opinion and wasn't allowed. This was after four years it was hung there. The school said that the sign was offensive to people who didn't believe that and it wasn't acceptable.

She was specifically told that not everyone believes everyone is welcome and therefore counts as a personal opinion.

This is a fine example of where the forest gets lost for the trees. No one in their right mind could see a sign like that as condoning vile behavior.

There is a culture of overly-sensitive nitpicking in the US where people crave authority and control so badly that they'll find offense to something solely as a justification to enforce their will on others. It's a form of emotional manipulation that doesn't really get discussed as much as it should. Labeling everything as bigoted or harmful to children is minimizing actual examples of such simply to pompously promote yourself as a paragon of virtue. It's morally bankrupt

@TinyViolins This is true, there is no way that sign was harmful at all.
