Lines for not paying attention at school

exexec · 61-69, C
My wife had to write "I will not talk in class" for at least one class every week in high school. She could not resist talking, and her friends loved to get her in trouble.

@exexec your wife sounds like me when I was in school
exexec · 61-69, C
@Slivereyes She has always been a social creature. She used to embarrass our kids because she would talk to anybody everywhere.

I had to do that once, but I had to use two pens of a different color for subsequent words.

@InstructHer Some may raise an eyebrow but I don't. I can fully understand how your support will make you feel good, and will be extremely helpful for her. It's sad that some girls can't accept the fact that they need mentoring, due to a wrong notion of "independence".
InstructHer · 56-60, M
@helenS she is very positive about it.
helenS · 36-40, F
@InstructHer I'm very glad she accepts your guidance. She will be thankful all her life.
TAReturns · M
Her penmanship is a little sloppy in my opinion 🙁

I will pay attention to my... hey wanna go ride bikes?
Adrift · 61-69, F
@Adrift And that was exactly me in school.

Once told off by a college at work,
I thought I must write out 50 times,

“I must not stand in the way of your career”.

I did not of course.
Apologised to her, thinking,

“You pay me all this money, listening to your dibble. It’s still much easier than fruit picking”.

I did not mean a word of the apology. Just took the money at work, and smiled.

@HoraceGreenley 1008 lines – that's a lot of work 😬
InstructHer · 56-60, M
@helenS the extra 8 for mistakes made
helenS · 36-40, F
@InstructHer Yes of course, mistakes can't be accepted.

@Jenny76 it was 1,000 lines. The extra were for lines she had written incorrectly.
Jenny76 · 46-50, F
@InstructHer that's fair.
She is lucky that you didn't give 2, 5, or 10 lines for each 1 written incorrectly.
InstructHer · 56-60, M
@Jenny76 exactly

What a dumb, meaningless punishment. My father did that to me when I was about 10.
Jenny76 · 46-50, F
is she paying attention at school now?
InstructHer · 56-60, M
@Jenny76 better but not perfect!
Jenny76 · 46-50, F
@InstructHer that's good so the lines helped
