How come some schools start school in late July?

That’s very early!! Some students or teachers don’t get much time off. My former neighbor’s grandson starts school July 27th. That’s very early! Why not start August or September? When I was in school, school started in August like the second week of August.

Kids get many more breaks (through out the school year) than we did. Each state has a set number of days or hours that they have to be in school - I would guess that is a pretty universal number but I’m not sure

@LaylaTheTallGirl when did they start summer vacation? If it started early May then I wouldn’t think that staying back at the end of July is early
