Of course they're real people . . they're Oompa Loompas

Wnen I was at school I longed for a decent role in one of our end of term productions. But partly because I was very short I kept getting overlooked . . literally 😕 In my final year the Christmas show was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was asked to choreograph a dance routine for the Oompa Loompas, who were being played by year 6s. I was also allowed to dress up and dance myself because 10 year old girls were about the same height as me 🙂

I played a tree.
And hit a damn box with a stick for one part of some Easter song. I was the Michelle of the band so you better appreciate what you got, Kelly.

@HijabaDabbaDoo Up until that moment, the highlight of my acting career had been third sheep in the lower school nativity 🐑

I`ll bet you danced your little heart out. ☺️

I was made to be a clown in a Christmas play when I was 5. I`ve hated clowns and dressing up ever since. 😡

@Degbeme We all did, and the routine was about 5 minutes longer than schedu!ed 😅

It's not fun being made to do those things when you don't want to 😕

@SunshineGirl That is awesome you got to dance longer. 🤗

Shame. I had some happy times acting in school plays.

@SunshineGirl That’s kind of you. A few years earlier, I played a very small part in Macbeth. One rehearsal was delayed because the sixth former playing Macbeth was late. He eventually arrived, looking as if he’d happily murder anyone who got in his way. He had just been caned for smoking!
