I think public education in the us is horrible

I'm in my last few weeks of student teaching and trying to get 2nd graders to understand mathematical and grammar concepts that my son whos 2 years younger than them already has mastered difference is my son doesn't attend public school

Public education is bad. They also teach many atheistic lies like evolution as opposed to biblical creation, as well as climate change.

@Mountainlady16 In the USA if your kids don't attend public (ie gov funded) school, does that mean you pay a private company to educate them? If so is the curriculum govt controlled? I don't know how your system works. I'm not sure the quality of education has declined any more there than elsewhere :(.

@Really There are several options: religious schools (mostly Catholic), private secular schools (operated either independently or by corporations), and private charter school options operated by private companies in arrangement with public school districts. There are basic curriculum standards set by the States that have to be met by all. The primary advantage they offer (other than religious instructions by the religious schools) is smaller class sizes and more disciplined students. Plus they do not have to accept nor provide educational opportunities for special needs students. So they are spared the cost of additional resources needed for special needs students while siphoning off the parents most likely to be involved and supportive and undermining the financial base of the public schools.

@dancingtongue actually most Christian schools in the us aren't Catholic my area has several Christian schools and only 2 are catholic. My kids go to a Mennonite school
