@OlderSometimesWiser speaking from experience?
@zonavar68 Perhaps. 🙂

I'm old-fashioned so I don't 🙄

I had the sweetest girl invite me to senior prom. It was totally unexpected. She was pretty, quiet, smart, innocent. What happened after the prom was a complete surprise. I'll leave it at that.

I have only been asked out once in my life. Being more of a gentleman, and old fashioned, I would rather do the asking

The woman who became my first wife originally asked me out.

A blast from the past. In high school, we had Sadie Hawkins Week when girls asked boys for dates, paid for them, etc. The first date I had with my wife, Lynn, was when she asked me to be her date to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. They need to declare a national Sadie Hawkins Week for women to ask men for dates.

@exexec Interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadie_Hawkins_dance
Never heard of this before, but here in Australia the 'prom' and 'homecoming' thing isn't in our culture. We do have 'school formals' (that I never attended) for those who are socially less awkward than me and had (at that time) a developed interest in (and probably good understanding of) sex and maybe are interested in dating and relationships.
