Snakes are showing up for some reason

We hadn't seen a snake in our yard all year. Last night, there was a water snake on our patio, and this ribbon snake was by the fence this morning. At least the venomous copperheads and cottonmouths haven't made an appearance.

@WillaKissing Lots of frogs and lizards. I have watched a ribbon snake eat a frog by our day lilies.

They are in the UK too, but luckiky ours are not deadly and slither off when they hear us coming. We've had a record breaking hot summer here.

@Quimliqer We just have to be careful opening doors to go outside. They seem to always be near the door.
