@WillaKissing When I lived in the country there was a pile of old torn down chicken pens, the lumber and chicken wire was there. One day after I got everything done in the house and the weather was good I got my hoe and started pulling boards out of a pile. Each board had several large black widow spiders on it so I always used the hoe to pick up each one and smashed the spiders before carrying to the burn barrel. I got about 80% of the boards burned and then went to lift another with a hoe and heard a buzzing sound. Carefully lowered the board and it stopped. Did that again two more times and decided it would be a good time to take a long break. Came back after lunch and started to lift a board and it was gone.
@cherokeepatti I would have cleared around the old coup's piles so I could set them ablaze where they were knowing I would find those spiders and snakes myself. The clearing would be to prevent any forest or brush fire. Graas grows back and the wire would be easier to pick up after the fire and to take to the recycle bin. But that what I would have done, and it has no bearing as to what you did! Neither way is any better. You know I am not that person to try and one up you or to say my way is better. 🤗
@WillaKissing The landlord lived next door and he wouldn’t have allowed that I am sure. He saw me after I took a break and went back outside and wanted to know why I stopped. Told him I heard a buzzing at the bottom of the pile and thought it was a rattlesnake and wanted to give it time to leave. He said he didn’t blame me
