Going to be intubated this morning. Really nervous. Haven't been able to sleep. Please send me some good luck prayers or good vibes?

I think I am so nervous because the aftereffects of an endoscopy are severe discomfort for several days, and the worst of it is a sore throat and gastric pain. I hate sore throats.

ANY good vibes or prayers would be much appreciated.

Praying nothing is seriously wrong🙏 You'll be fine, it just makes you gag a bit which should be no problem aslong as you don't eat anything.

@Patientlywaiting I feel great! Once the IV nurse stopped torturing me, they knocked me out, and that was the best part of my day!!! 🤣 No sore throat or bad aftereffects.

I had an endoscopy last December. I’ve had several of them over the years and have never experienced a sore throat or anything like you mentioned.

@Mardrae Well, I made the mistake of looking up the aftereffects online. Bought all sorts of sore throat lozenges, and sore throat spray and of course, when I got in there, they said, "No, you won't have a sore throat." NONE of what I read online was true.

Father God, please comfort and keep her safe. Be with the doctors and nurses that they do a easy and sfe endoscopy with no serious issues.

i have had that at both ends. Its not nice but if it sorts the problem then its worth it

I had one a few years ago. You’ll be knocked out before you know what’s happening. But nobody told me I was going to be so sore ha! I couldn’t talk for a few days.

You’ll do great and hopefully they can figure out what is troubling you.

@pdockal I have never met this doctor. I am scheduled for a follow up and will actually meet him on February 28th. I keep having "emergencies" like this so I haven't had an office visit yet.

I rarely use the ER doctor

@pdockal I didn't either...just followed the ER doctor's instructions. He wanted me to remain inpatient but I could not, as it would have been $390 out of pocket as co insurance.

I have had them and had no side effects, the side effects are not common and if you are seeing someone who does them on a regular basis you will be fine.

I had it twice and both times the sore throat lasted for only one day.
Praying that it goes smoothly for you and that everything will be ok.
To make the sore throat better, it helps to suck some candies.

I would hate that too! The only time I have had a tube down my throat was when I was in surgery under general anesthesia, so I was unaware of it.
