@PatientlyWaiting25 Amazing. Sharing the Bible.... evangelizing.... to you... "a Sunday school teacher"..... is seen as trouble making. You may teach..... but if that is how you feel about what the Bible says.... you have not learned a thing about what you teach. I'll pray for you.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Why should the husband decide if his wife is disobedient? Only God can determine that. So when God appears and tells one of them to spank the other, that is the only time it should be done.

@LeopoldBloom well God prefers that the husband is in charge and the wife submits to him, it wouldn't be in the bible if that wasn't so. My husband and I decided the rules together, he just enforced them and gave me discipline when I broke them.

Biblical discipline is to live your in a righteous, godly, goodly fashion.
To choose that which is right over that which is not.
It is not referring to disciplinary actions, such as whippings.

I believe the majority of Christians try to follow biblical disciplines. But because we are human we will error.

Well it sounds like a person who seeks to follow the moral teachings in the Bible.. That takes Discipline..
So fairly simple concept..

Unhealthy, often male-chavinist, domination as summarised by the legal offence of "Coercive and controlling behaviour" - but with the Bible used as a cheap excuse for bullying.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I think you are right about the really abusive ones, or many of them anyway, not trying to excuse their behaviour; but they are very manipulative.
By no means all are wife-beaters though. They are cruel in other, non-physical ways.

@PatientlyWaiting25 DD is a sexual kink in some cases. I remember back in the Daryl Gates era, one of his sub chiefs (Gates was the Los Angeles police chief in the 80s and 90s), Robert Vernon, was also a pastor, and once gave a sermon about beating children with oars, and it was obvious that he derived sexual pleasure from seeing the welts appear on their skin. This was a long time ago and I can't find the article.

@LeopoldBloom there will always be sick individuals but it's more shocking when you discover that it's a pastor.

Have you never read the first few books of the bible where god just wipes out people? That’s biblical discipline. If this a fetish-based question, sorry to disappoint you. But not really.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Ducky it may or may not be fetish based. DD isn't always about sex

Probably believing in a book written by men possessed by the Devil. That means the “Bible” in terms of the uniformed lay people.
