Do you also find it hard to feel sorry for missionaries when they get killed and eaten?

I mean it's pretty insulting, they go over and start telling people their beliefs are wrong and then wonder why they get their heads bashed in.

No I don't feel bad. I think the only time I'd feel bad is if they genuinely were in their own religious institutions and were solely targeted for being missionaries but this is different.

I remember a story about a missionary killed by the Sentinelese people but I remember learning their background. They basically learned to be hostile because several people tricked them and used them as slaves. They first learned to be hostile towards outsiders when colonialists came over and forcefully took an elderly man, a woman and four children.

All of them got sick, the two adults died and the colonialist returned the two sick children to the tribe so now they just kill outsiders.

I am not sure if this is the reason why but many historians think this is likely the case. There's really no going back.

@SatanBurger just to add to this... Slavery was widely practiced by some African tribes before outsiders came along.. It almost seems to have been world wide as a cheap source of labour
