A challenge to both Theists and Atheists:

Don't let your own side get away with bad arguments.

If you see someone with whom you are ideologically aligned making a weak, misinformed or illogical argument...call them out on it. Explain why it is flawed.

It won't weaken "your side", it will only strengthen it by weeding out bad arguments.
If you're concerned not with tribalism but rather with what is true then it's good and proper to expose bad arguments no matter the source.

I try and do this with the left.
@Burnley123

Right on. This rule is universally applicable no matter the subject.

Thank u i actually do this to myself at least daily. My arguments become more undeniable and better cited as i continue to try to prove my own arguments wrong. Good advice. Ty
@jehova

Helps keep the intellectually honest, honest and helps expose those who aren't.
If there are any magical claims being made, which there are, that greatly weakens a position. Don’t like the attitude of zero evidence assuming taken as matter of fact. That goes for astrology and the related wrongly put in this section. Also want to discuss evolution? Put it in the science section and have it out.

However, positions based on emotion I can understand and have no problems. Be honest.
@BlueSkyKing

Certainly if the answer to the question "How do you know?" is " By faith I believe" then the argument is in trouble.
I actually do this a lot. But duh, I'm based AF.
@BohemianBoo

lol keep it up
@Pikachu That's what she said.
@BohemianBoo

lol 🙄

Right on. That is the only way to get to the truth
@JimboSaturn

Agreed.
Rhetoric must not take the place of evidence or reason.

@Pikachu Thank you for that reminder!
Oh i just resort to execution via boredom
@Mistakesmakeus

One way to do it, i suppose lol
@Pikachu oh its pretty simple, sit them in the worlds quietest room, tie them up, and have them stare at a wall painted with a special paint that never dries. Then tell them they won't be let free until the paint dries, completely full proof

This atheist has no argument. I simply don’t believe. Period.
@redredred

That's fine.
This only comes into play when one attempts to convince another that their own position is correct.

@Pikachu I am blissful that fools remain foolish. I have no interest in dissuading idiots from their superstitious beliefs.
