Car camping

I spent the night last night in my car at a rest stop. It was both exciting and scary.

Oh, I've done that! Parked in a layby behind two lorries (rule is don't park with just one lorry in case they're an axe murderer. Two is safer coz you can scream for help from the one who isn't an axe murderer 😉) It was the bleating of sheep that woke me up about 5am 🐑🐑

I’ve done that as well. I sleep better in a tent in the middle of the woods. Hope you are rested up. 😊
CJNature · M
@startswithone sounds like you should jump back into that tent. 😊 My opinion, it’s so freeing and relaxing.
TexChik · F
@Stereoguy While traveling? Or do you go to Sam's every night? 🤭😉

Somewhat regularly. Being a truck driver it's normal, driving anywhere in my personal vehicle I'll stop and sleep if need be

I've camped out alone in my car before. Not ideal and I only ever get a couple hours of sleep, but it works.

I’ve had to do that on long road trips

Awesome. Have drivin cross country and car camped. Not alone however even though some rest areas have 24 hour security.
Rambler · 61-69, M
In the back seat or did you just recline in the front ?
startswithone · 26-30, F
@Rambler i bundled in the back
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
Ive done it before, not ideal but gets the job done
djjohnson · 41-45, M
I’ve never had a car big enough I could lay down comfortably in to get a full night of sleep. Best I could do was get a couple of hours in before I just got up and continued driving.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
Yep, been there before. If you get sick of the dark and want somewhere lit and warm, 24hr launderettes are great
As a truck driver I stay in rest areas all the time and don't think twice about it. My personal vehicle sucks ass for sleeping in.
It's adventurous, but you spend half the time worrying about odd noises and strange characters lurking about.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
used to do it in a station wagon with my parents - back when gas was 39 cents per gallon

glad you're okay
DViper97 · 46-50, M
Been there. It’s not the ideal place for good sleep for me. Always waking up not knowing what’s around.
Dino11 · M
Used to live in my truck. when traveling, with a glock 17 under the front seat.
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Hope you had fun... Even tho you thought it a little scary...
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I thought law enforcement would make people leave that do that.
lovingdead · 31-35, M
Just because or is that a stop in a greater journey to somewhere?
SW-User
Did you get some sleep?
startswithone · 26-30, F
@SW-User not much but enough
manly · 46-50, M

@startswithone Would you do it again?
startswithone · 26-30, F
@MrBrownstone if I had to
sourstomach · 36-40
Message me back ❤️
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
I did that for many nights in my Civic. Now I have a van so it's much easier but I don't like the police harassing me. Also rest stops are supposedly the most dangerous although I never felt it. and I find parking lots like at Home Depot more comfortable.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
A female alone? Dangerous as fuck.
