How often do you get a new bed?

How do you go about getting a new bed, that you know you'll be happy with?

Any suggestions? Or recommendations?

Cus, I think mine is worn out and I need a new bed...

We bought a new bed when we moved into our new house in 2008. Four or five years later, we bought another for the guest room, and we occasionally swap them out.

Our usual tactic for buying a mattress is to go to the various furniture stores around, stretch out on their display units and see what we think, and then go "That one," and then gasp at how expensive it is, but get it anyway.
