Just be yourself and one day a woman will catch onto that
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
I have never had a girlfriend, either. And I was not physically disabled at all for most of my life. Yet I was overweight. And I lost my hair up top earlier than usual in my adult life. But my nerdy personality and clinginess kept people away, too. But it is not just women. I have no male friends, either.
As I aged, my toes started feeling cold more often. Then my feet. It was probably due to diabetes, which I did not know about until a few years later, since I had not seen a doctor in decades for anything. I just bought thermal socks to cope.
Then in 2023 I had strange boils on the back of my neck. I picked at them and they got infected and it spread. I left it alone hoping it would heal on its own but it got worse. Then it started affecting my legs for some reason. I later learned the infection had spread to my vertebrae, so maybe that was it. My legs started collapsing uncontrollably. So I called for an ambulance.
They immediately went to work on my infected neck, cutting away infected skin. They ran tests and said I had flesh eating bacteria. I had more cleaning surgeries and then they cut skin from my leg and grafted it on my neck. They said the infection had spread to my vertebrae yet not yet my spine. But I knew something felt wrong with my nerves. Tingling, loss of function, spasms. Etc.
While in the hospital I also learned I had diabetes, which explained my numb feet.
I was bedridden for weeks, and after all that, I had to use a walker for two months. I have not used it for two years, but still sometimes a leg just gives away on me. My feet are still numb although I have gotten my sugars down with diet and drugs.
I still feel weak and cannot walk far or fast but as long as I can drive and sit I can earn a living and live a somewhat normal life again. I should exercise my legs more, though. I feel tired after waking but then stronger the next day.
Right now I have a recurring pinch of pain near my left big toe. It kept me up last night until I lost consciousness. I hope it goes away. I should walk more.
Good luck!
As for me, I gave up on friendships. I can get by. But it has always been like this so I am used to it. They are now a bonus to me, not a necessity.

@JoyfulSilence I have that thoughts too...I am what I am and if people do not like it, that is their problem. My desires for females does not have with hormones to do...its my disability and even when I was 15-20 years old I have had difficulties finding girls that loves me for what I am. But now my theories is right...girls wants perfect born and rich guys that can do what girls expect guys to do, and if they dont they have to show me that this is not true.

@Mathias
I would not worry about it anymore and just find something neat to learn about or fun to do.

@JoyfulSilence Yes I do find other fun things to do but we are supposed to live together and not alone forever.

How isolating is your disability? I mean are you actually ever in situations where you have the opportunity to meet people or potential partners?
Mathias · 56-60, M
@SwampFlower You missunderstand me...The reason I have a sign on me is to tell people I have a disability and how it affects me. Its just an information sign nothing else. But this girl didnt boughter to read it instead she said she knew what it was but she didnt...noone knows it because I live with this every day and instead she said something else that humiliated me. And no I didnt talked more to her she wasnt even my kind of girl. I dont go in therapy...many years ago I did but not now. If people dont know nothing about a persons disability I think its better the dont say nothing at all. My disability is really hard to explain to others and a person that dont live every day with this have no idea how it is for me..And why is it weird to show people my sign...its for giving them information but they cant handle it the right way.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@Mathias She may not have known or understood how to react. I mean in my 70+ years no one has ever shown me a sign or anything like you're describing.
I sympathize with you but cannot really understand your situation. All I can offer is that the more people you can be around the better chance you will have. A know a couple of people who met in support groups. Also you might look into any dating sites that may be out there for handicapped people.
Best of luck to you.

@MoveAlong Thanks alot. My disability is very rare and people cant even pronounce it right. Noone can understand how this affects my body because they dont live with it .When I show them my sign they have never heard about it and think it has with taxi cabs to do. Not even my doc knew what it was he had to look it up in a book before he could say what it was. And the most frustrating was that it took 35 years to find it..

women don't care about disabilities. they will flock to bad guys fresh out of prison, and some of those men have learning disabilities. but they usually give you some kind of feedback in what you makes you no woman's land. any idea what?
Mathias · 56-60, M
@StygianKohlrabi Whats incels SMH?

DcupSophie · 31-35, F
I had sex with a friends dad after he was in a serious car crash and left disabled
DcupSophie · 31-35, F
@Mathias almost 30 year age gap
DcupSophie · 31-35, F
@Mathias i think almost any woman would at least be thinking that in that situation
Mathias · 56-60, M
@DcupSophie I have heard that if the age gap is more than ten years its way too much. Whether this is true or just a sayin would be interesting to know. I have also heard from some younger girls, I am 56 myself; that age is just a number and not that important as they think.
