Maybe the incompatibility of my parents is how it’s meant to be for wifey and I

My parents, it really seems that they cannot stand each other! My mom is very serious and doesn’t mess around for anything, while my dad is so laid back and such a big jokester. They’re at each other’s throats more often than not whenever I see them together. Obviously , there’s still some form of love between them or they wouldn’t still be together after 30+ years. My wife and I are feuding more often than not nowadays and have been for a while, yet we’re still together. What if that’s how we’re meant to be as well? I like to think we were meant to be since just our meeting was so ridiculously coincidental, lol. But if it was, yet we’re still sick of each other all the time, what if it’s one in the same? We’re not happy together, yet at the same time, we are just enough to stay together? If that is indeed the case, I suppose I have it decide if that’s a good thing for a bad thing.

I think, unfortunately, people have a tendency to recreate the traumas of their childhood - we pick partners who are likely to hurt us the way we were hurt when we were children. The good things about our partners remind us of the good things about our parents; but often times subconsciously we're picking someone who reflects the more difficult traits as well.

You don't have to be in this situation. It's okay to admit you aren't happy. No one failed. Things don't have to last forever. They aren't supposed to.

A reading from the ancient wisdom of OutKast \ Andre 3000:

We got together
Oh, we get together
But separate's always better when there's feelings involved
If what they say is
"Nothing is forever"
Then what makes, then what makes
Then what makes, then what makes (what makes, what makes)
Love the exception?
So why, oh, why, oh
Why, oh, why, oh, why, oh
Are we so in denial when we know we're not happy here?
(Y'all don't want to hear me, you just want to dance)

Not that anyone gives a fawk, lol. Maybe if I was prettier and/or more popular around here. 😛

@Ducky Case in point. I actually tried being nice to you once, but you've always just decided I'm a piece of shit to be stepped on and cast aside, because you're just so much fucking better than me.
