Why does, every relationship I've been in seem to always be one sided?

Why can't it be mutual?
SW-User
You haven’t found the right person yet. Or at least a giving person. Someone who really appreciates you.

I’m a giver and gave up for now lol Everyone I’ve ever been with takes until I’m depleted then calls me shit and walks away.

There’s someone that will love giving to you and you will be able to share life. Best to you.

@SW-User thank you!

Boundaries are super important when you’re a giver. 🤗

It’s important to not overextend yourself.
Clear, respectful communication is also important.

The right ones will respect your boundaries and be supportive of you taking care of yourself.

The bad ones will try to guilt, bully, shame, and/or debate away your boundaries. The second they pull any of that it’s a sign to cut them loose.

I think, based upon my personal experiences, that many (most?) partnerships are one sided. I think it is almost unavoidable and unless both parties are emotionally mature enough to recognize it and fix it, this one thing leads to more rifts, arguments and evenuatal separations/divorces than anything.

@Ontheroad i agree
likewise! I found a solution, single.

I know the feeling. Everyone’s really out for themselves. They’ll befriend you just to boost themselves up or get something out of you and once you’ve outlived your usefulness, they won’t think twice about ditching you. It’s better to just lower expectations from people. Even if they may seem genuinely interested in you.

Probably should have put the word "bad" in front of "relationship." It would be more accurate. "Good" relationships? That's where each person puts their partner in front of themselves. They work to make each other happy. It's both selfless and selfish at once. Make someone happy and the happy comes back to us.

Oh how I can relate to this!

@helenS I agree with you, and I could be wrong, I wonder if the author doesn't want to hear this?
helenS · 36-40, F
@SW-User He already replied in the affirmative.

@SW-User any advice helps

@daddylikestoshow If we are really talking pasts, do you have weaknesses inside yourself you recognize? Are you making changes to alleviate them? Women, I think you'd be looking at your age are a little discerning, even if sometimes lonely

People in relationships don't know true balance. Maybe it is ego or something else.
Get the hint.
You are kept for bigger causes.

@OldMan70 Actually I like a man's testicles and that little bag they're in – a nice toy to play with.
My stress balls 😏

A good relationship is mutual but your profile says you're a serial cheater
@daddylikestoshow so you just date other people on the side? Sounds immature and selfish of you fyi
daddylikestoshow · 46-50, M
@SStarfish no, not dating other people on the side
helenS · 36-40, F
Maybe that's just the way you see it? And your relationship partner(s) would see it from a very different point of view?
daddylikestoshow · 46-50, M
@helenS that maybe true
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
You keep picking the same type of person and expecting different results.
daddylikestoshow · 46-50, M
@ravenwind43 try not to. And i guess, it's just my luck
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@daddylikestoshow humans are creatures of habit so we tend to pick what is familiar. Sometimes we have to venture towards someone we can't see ourselves with. Unknown territory.
Maybe look early on. Get to know them as a person before dating them. Save yourself a little heartache that way?

If it came in a box from Real Doll it might need batteries.

Why do you use extra commas?
