Many Judge

It’s crazy how many White people and POC will judge you for dating outside your race though. Dont get me wrong most love my boyfriend
but it’s crazy how many strangers feel fine just making comments on it in a rude way 😕. Not so much in my home state but elsewhere. I’ve learned not to care but it annoys my boyfriend how rude it is. It’s just wild 😂

smiler2012 · 56-60
@nedkelly 🤷‍♂️

Judgmental people are the worst. I’m sorry you’re experiencing some of it.

Just remember, it says more about them than it does you!

You go where your heart leads I've loved girls who were outside of mine but didnt care as they made me feel so special
Primnproper · 56-60, F
I think its disgusting that it still goes on in this day and age..just be happy and dont even consider what anyone else thinks about it..🤗
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
in truth, it's people that put you in a box (limit people to a specific demographic/define your character by ethnicity) that are the problem

people who fetishize dating outside of ethnicity are as guilty of prejudice as those who are completely opposed to it
metamorphosis · 22-25, F
@wildbill83 I definitely don’t disagree. But I’ve noticed if I so much as say I’m attracted to black men I am ‘fetishizing’ them. So, some people judge regardless
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
being that pure racial genetics are pretty much non existent these days; if those people were asked which part of a person they're attracted to, how would they respond? (if someone is 50% black, 30% white, and 20% native/indigenous; are they only attracted to half of them?) 🤔
metamorphosis · 22-25, F
@wildbill83 I’m attracted to all of it if I’m attracted to them.
Bowenw · 61-69, M
I can't believe people can't mind their own business.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
I’ve had the opposite reaction here. My GF and I have been together for over 8 years, and I can recall at least three different times when strangers have walked up and said what a beautiful thing they though it was…something that in itself I find weird and uncomfortable, but at least it’s meant to be positive.
@Zaphod42 But, as a dog, that's actually not surprising (except perhaps the over 8 yrs part)...

😉🤣🤣🤣

WM with BW is pretty unusual, which is why it might draw attention.

If it were BM with W W, no one would notice because in some places, like where I live, that is pretty much the only type of couple one sees.

it annoys my boyfriend
The reason for that might be - when a man is involved with a woman, he is staking his reputation. Everyone now assumes he is into only BW.

A woman can date whoever but when it ends, she can still date whoever else.

All demographs aside, it is interesting how people feel the need to decide who should date who.
I had that problem in high school. Yeah I dated some "undesirables" and caught a lot of flack but none of the "Good" prospects were showing any interest so why should they have cared?
justbob · 61-69, M
🙁 I would like to think that our society had moved past that by now. Suddenly I am quite sad
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
Where are you from?
DarkCookie · 26-30, F
@TheRascallyOne Seattle WA. It’s better here but when we travel it’s worse
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@DarkCookie here in Dallas Texas everybody's dating everybody
Huge hugs from me ❤️
Who doesn't. Anyone who says, they don't judge are liars.
It's part of human nature.
Now the question is your choice to be affected by it or not.

In Hawai'i, was the one place it seemed like people didn't even notice.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
You are already judging people, everyone is judgemental and that is a fact
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
Those types will always say mean things need to ignore them and enjoy each other
lost213 · 46-50, M
Jealousy. Plain and simple . They only wish they could have it so good.
Nevertooold · 56-60, M
I agree...what a wonderful world we live in huh?
Fa8393 · 41-45, M
Everyone has their own options about things
RedBaron · M
Judge you for what?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I have interracial couples in my family. It's not an issue for us, but I know that people will continue to make a big deal out of things that don't concern them. Why? no idea.

@LeopoldBloom For sure. And to be fair there is plenty for white people I just figured that’s barely even worth noting because it’s commen
@DarkCookie I've heard one reason for the reactions from white people is a holdover from the slave era. A white guy with a Black woman is viewed as "hey, a guy is entitled to a little fun." But the reverse is challenging the status quo.

I have heard that some POCs view a Black person with a white partner as going off the reservation. It's not that different from a Jewish, Muslim, fundamentalist Christian, Mormon, etc. dating a secular person from outside their group.
DarkCookie · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom It’s 100% this with both. And not always but some Black Women tend to run their relationships which challenge's male dominance as well.

@MrBrownstone And you don't understand that PoC is acceptable and VERY different from the old phrase.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@SomeMichGuy It's not. Changing the words around doesn't make it not racist.
