I have, it broke my soul. Only person I ever trusted like that in my life. Never been the same since.

@DancingStarGoddess: thank you
@Thefightingangel: very welcome

Yeah. It made me feel a little silly to feel so betrayed because it wasn't the first time... I really trusted that they wouldn't do it again.
I'm okay now though. I think that maybe it was for the better.

@arcobaleno: definitely leaving yourself vulnerable to someone is the key to really trusting and loving someone

@Thefightingangel: I know for you it hurts right now... it's still fresh. But it will pass. In the meantime, you can distract yourself from it by wasting time with the rest of us here 🤗

@arcobaleno: haha I know right! You guys always make me feel better thank you:)

Yes. In fact, in my life it's almost been the norm. It's tough to digest, because you have not only lost trust in that person, you've lost trust in your own judgment.
Thefightingangel · 31-35, M
@greenmountaingal: yes exactly! Like you aren't sure what kind of people you can trust and you will always have doubt

I have. :'( It is more than a let down..It crushes the soul...Of course I guess that depends on how closely one is attached to the betrayer. I've never yet been betrayed that I didn't feel deep anguish. I always regret trusting individuals....It never fails..If we expected it, then it most likely would never happen. Because of the deep hurt that is attached to betrayal for me, I will only tell ANY human being but so much now and NEVER trust any for all things! NEVER!

@DixieChick: I know it makes you question who you are. In my case this person was like a part of me and was like my rock at one point. It feels like heartbreak because you can actually feel a hole in your life. That's how it felt for me. I'm sorry you experienced it too:( we can't let those people ruin our trust in future friendships and relationships we would only be hurting ourselves.

@Thefightingangel: I question who they are, not myself.. 🙂
Thefightingangel · 31-35, M
@DixieChick: well in my case when I had low self-esteem this person reminded me who I was and made me feel special. So when they betrayed me I was confused about who I was. Its not the same for everyone just in my case

Yeah, and I knew better. But it taught me.
Thefightingangel · 31-35, M
@Peaceful: that's true we learn a valuable lesson but it still hurts years later

I have, yeah. I still don't understand it. I'm sorry if you're going through the same.
Thefightingangel · 31-35, M
@GlassDog: thank you its a horrible feeling. I'm sorry you experienced it too:(

Yes, several times.

@Thefightingangel: S'okay...you have to risk the betrayal to be in a position to gain from a good relationship experience. It's all part of the risk-reward balance in life.
Thefightingangel · 31-35, M
@Oosure: definitely and its a nice feeling to feel like you can trust someone completely. But if they betray you its a huge letdown and disappointment. And all it does is make it harder to trust someone else again
SWisGoingWoke · M
@Thefightingangel: True that.
