How many break ups in a relationship do you need to say it's over?

Well,there's actually walking out and then there is a serious arguement...I rarely walk out. And depending on your circumstances you can't always walk away when you feel you need to.

I have let a guy I really, really loved tell me we can't be together several times...because I know that he has feelings but doesn't have the courage to accept them. I figured eventually he would find his way...

I've also been with a guy who when we fought showed his true colours...and it was clear then that he had little respect for my thoughts, feelings or property...I had nowhere else to go though.

I would like to say that one break up would be enough but when you are so in love, it is hard to keep to that.

I don't think there's a definitive answer to that, as each relationship is unique. I know of a couple that's been married 40-50 years and has gone through numerous separations during that time.

As much as I'm aware of the psychology of it I'll never understand it. How can you feel comfortable enough to show love in such a precarious situation?

That is probably not what keeps them together. I've been through that. That is what happens when you both love each other so much, but you're both stubborn with different wills.

Hopefully never but sometimes you reach a point where you have to throw in the towel.

I can't do that. Generally if someone leaves, they need to stay gone. I don't leave unless I'm really and truly done.
