It's normal. If you wanna hack the game, understand your nature. And male nature.
We tell pretty stories. And two people deciding to be together through, as you say, thick and thin. That is, indeed, a beautiful thing.
But love is not a victory march. It's a cold, and it's a broken hallelujah. It isn't a powerful feeling, as in the movies. That's simply being high. Love, love takes hard work and discipline. It ain't fuckin' easy, lemme tell ya. And it's painful as hell, sometimes. But better than beingnalone. Ands for women it generally has to be built up over time.
I'll say a couple lines that hit me like a brick, few years back:
Men pretend to be pragmatists; but are hopeless romantics.
Women pretend to be hopeless romantics, but are actually pragmatists.
I ascribe no negative or positive value to either. Of course, I think if one is best served, they find where they exist in thar balance and attempt to integrate more of the opposite.
