I am a white man, my second wife I met in New York and she is Asian, my third and forever wife I met in Hong Kong. I think it depends on the person and upbringing. I don't care what others think but it is fairly normal to see a white man with an Asian woman.

Yes but I think we’d have to weigh it by geographic location, cities and towns. Those interracial couplings may vary from state to state.

And it’s probably more taboo where the population is dominated by a more segregated outlook on life, politically and socially.

99% I couldn’t imagine that in the U.S.
It must be a different country.

@Alifeinterrupted
Are you living in the U.S.
I remember on EP that there were “women” from Ghana messaging people and it was a fraud.

These men might think you are a guy.

@Pfuzylogic well on the site my photo is up and my profile was verified..didnt even bother to respond

@Alifeinterrupted
That is sad.
I thought we were beyond that.
I see many interracial relationships in the U.S. I can’t imagine any race being discriminated against.
Sroonaka616 · 31-35, M
No. I don't think so. Love is love. I think that friends and family can have some influence on who you end up with. I hope that you find someone who loves you for who you are and not what race you are.
black4white · 56-60, M
i dont think to a degree it is but not near as prevalent as it was and seems to get better as years go by
Peppa · 31-35, F
Yes especially when I see white men with black women.
In the UK id say there's a higher rate of mixed relationships with men of colour and white women then the other way around. It doesn't bother me as I think love is love.
But i do look not to stare but because I like seeing people happy.
I still notice the occasional aggression or discomfort for being noticed.
We've still got some time to go before it's a nothing thing
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
I would say if anything, interracial relationships are fetishized. To this type of person, you don't represent an individual, but serve as the embodiment of racial stereotypes and preconceptions.

It's almost a status symbol to be dating a spicy Latina, a submissive Asian, or an alpha black man.
@TinyViolins this is an interesting point

@TinyViolins Facts.

I would change the political affiliations of my parents.

I would change the fact that they were a couple of intensely dedicated Stalinists in the old Communist Party.
Danez · M
That’s seems weird if that’s the reason
Alifeinterrupted · 26-30, F
@Danez you'd be surprised
Danez · M
@Alifeinterrupted apparently. I date primarily outside my race and I don’t think much about anyone thinking it’s taboo or wrong. It seems natural to me.
SW-User
I don't think it is, but that's just where I live though.
Alifeinterrupted · 26-30, F
@sarabi where would you say its taboo
sarabi · F
@Alifeinterrupted in many many countries. Yes, to this day.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
wouldn't think so.
Alifeinterrupted · 26-30, F
@AmbivalentFriability really? So you're racist?

To some people
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
Yes plenty of palces still object to white and black relationships, some still in the UK and other EU countries.
bearinthehalfwayhouse · 26-30, M
Depending on the location. But I'ma say nuh... As a white boi I've had my luck with the asians. ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ •ʔ/
ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
There's still an often an awful lot of racial hypocrisy surrounding interracial relationships here in the uk.

Asian men with white women - no problem, they're everywhere you look, and have been for decades.

Asian woman with a white male? I'm 68 and still to see such a couple.
Danez · M
@ThePerfectUsername wow that seems so odd to me, maybe because there are many Asians living here in the U.S. and I grew up around so many and have dated many. One of my first girlfriends was Korean.
ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
@Danez I imagine the same thing happens all over the world. Just substitute "white" and "asian" for whatever nationalities apply to your area. In the place I lived for most of my life the asians in question were 2nd and 3rd generation Pakistani immigrants still living with their parents and grandparent and pretty much bound by the old customs. Local white girls were viewed as "fair game" for Pakistani youths - but Pakistani girls were accompanied by substantial dowries if delivered "intact" to potential Pakistani husbands and it was the older generation who paid that dowry so they were still very much in control of who their girls associated with. No virginity = shame on the entire family - so they watch their girls like hawks but let the boys run riot. It's all extremely unhealthy.
Danez · M
@ThePerfectUsername lol fair enough. Like you say, different places in the world are partial to their own kind.

No. It is the norm. 🙂
Lilred2289 · 36-40, F
I don’t think it is. Not everyone is open to it but I don’t feel uncomfortable dating a black man
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I wouldn't think so among younger generations, but I've not sent messages on dating sites recently to know
