Why can't I call myself an idiot when I do something dumb?

My girlfriend calls me an idiot all the time. So why does she get angry at me when I call myself an idiot?

I don't know. I call myself an idiot or an imbecile quite often, but I'm sure I wouldn't take kindly to a "friend" doing it...unless we were laughing together about something goofy I'd done.

If she is an actual friend, she probably doesn't want you thinking you really are an actual "idiot".
