It’s in the small things, like when he never forgets to text me on the saddest day of my year ♥️

The little things mean so much to me. Absolutely.

I was married for nearly 20 years, and he was always big on the grand gestures....buying me things, jewelry, anything I ever wanted. I think it made him feel good about himself.....of course I found out later they were simply ‘guilt’ gifts. (He was cheating the whole time)
So gifts like that don’t sit well with me.

I want to [i]feel[/i] the love he has for me.

Little things like being sweet and kind.

I appreciate the little and simple things most, but I see my wife's love in everything she does.

I'd appreciate a back rub, sharing of loads, an occasional special dinner, wanting to watch movies under a shared blanket, a smile and showing of affection many times more than huge public displays of grand gestures, gifted vacations, free stuff and whatnot.

I'm not necessarily inherently against grander gestures, but there is a time and place for that. I can easily live without the grand gestures, but the small things are important to me.

How about a healthy combination

Lol for me a card with a thoughtful message one of my favorite poems and little things like the dishes are already done or dinners ready for me. I like hugs and kisses having my hair played with picking up my favorite treat, calling me beautiful etc but I’m trying to learn to accept bigger gestures from my husband because he thinks it’s what I deserve. 🥰
