Does your significant other know your whole life story or are their parts that you deliberately leave out?

I've been married for 17 years and there are still things that I've never told my husband and I probably never will. I'm too scared and ashamed to admit them to myself, never mind someone else, even if it is my spouse.
Do you think that someone should reveal everything to their significant other or is it okay to leave the past in the past sometimes?

Only if something in the past is relevant enough to share it now with your spouse. Otherwise, it is a misconception that you must share every intimate or private matter with him or her that happened prior to meeting. If you battled an addiction, for instance, that is something you should share. You don't have to share an abortion you had when you were very young.
