When did you know you wanted to marry him/her?

About a week after we met. We knew that we were meant to be together. We're still together after 30 years.

When I realized I hated spending even a day away from him.

We'd lived together for about 8 years. Marriage wasn't really discussed. Things were good as they were. Right around Christmas I was watching Sleepless in Seattle. Hadn't seen it. And a song called "Make Someone Happy," sung by Jimmy Durante came on. Hit me like a ton of bricks.
The next day I bought a ring and proposed on NY Eve with all our friends there.
Marriage changed things. We lasted about four years but are still super close friends. So yeah..it was a damn song. :)

When I used to think of her as my whole world and more than a friend.

I knew for sure within a few months. We met at orientation for college freshman - July I think it was. We got together the first week of school on campus. And by the time I went home for Thanksgiving break, I knew.

After we had been dating three years, and she was a freshman in college. I suddenly realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

Our conversations would last until daybreak. Plus we share numerous similarities.

That ship has sailed for me.
